What is Employee Engagement?
Employee Engagement can be defined as the extent to which employees are: committed to your Company, believe in the values of the Company,feel pride working for their boss or manager/s, motivated to go the extra mile
Why does it matter?
Research shows that a well-substantiated relationship exists between employee engagement and business results. Highly engaged employees: -
- Create loyal customer who, in turn, create bigger profits
- Are also far less likely to leave for another job than their less engaged peers
- Can out-perform those with low commitment by up to 200% (Watson Wyatt 2002 study
- Can be up to 43% more productive in revenue generation than their less engaged counterparts ( Hay Group 2003)
Can employee engagement be measured?
Yes. By administering the McKenzie Stretch Employee Engagement Survey.
This survey is an amalgamation of best practice research from around the globe in the area of employee engagement (research from the Corporate Leadership Council, The Gallup Organisation, The Saratoga Institute, Wattson Wyatt, The Hay Group etc).
The survey takes 5 – 10 minutes to complete and employees can choose on line or manual applications. Results are quantitative and specific to the nominated targets or group e.g. division/s, functional areas, etc.
